Airport - Elephant Orphanage - Sigiriya - Kandy - Nuwara Eliya - Ella - Tissahamarana - Yala National Park - South Coast

This Adventure Family Tour was created with the whole family in mind. Ride an elephant in the shadow of the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (UNESCO Heritage Site), pluck your own tea on a misty mountain estate, watch the world below from an Eco Tree House and track wild animals at one of the National Parks

Day 1 : Your driver will meet you at the airport and your holiday starts with a picturesque drive through rice paddy fields, banana and tea plantations. On our way to Sigiriya we will be visiting the Elephant Orphanage in Pinawella to watch around 80 elephants in their natural environments. Here you can see the baby elephants feeding from the milk bottle or even walk with them to their bath in the nearby river.

Day 2 : Sigiriya (sometimes called Lion’s Rock) is the ruins of an ancient palace in a 200m high rock fortress, overlooking the beautiful plains of North-Central Sri Lanka.
Despite its age, Sigiriya still retains much of its former beauty and features some of the finest examples of ancient art in the form of wall paintings, as well as a network of attractive gardens and reservoirs. After climbing the Sigiriya Rock in the cool morning, you will be taken to your hotel to relax before starting your elephant ride through the jungle and paddy fields around Sigiriya.
In the evening you will proceed to the Ashburnham Estate* in Kandy-Elkaduwa for the night.
Day 3 : The Ashburnham Estate in Elkaduwa is an old Principal Planter’s Bungalow from 1930, set amongst a 98 acre working tea estate and their manager will be more than happy to show you around the plantation, not only to point out all the herbal trees and plants, but also you will be able to pluck your own tea and see the whole processing later on.

Day 4 : If you feel like little bit of hiking you can head to the One Tree Hill which is about 2 hours walk from the estate. To ensure that you won't get lost, the dogs from the estate will guide you and show you the way. If you are looking for something more relaxing the hotel staff will set up a picnic for you by their private waterfall short walk from the hotel.

Day 5 : After breakfast it is time to embrace some time-old Sri Lankan traditions as you will visit a Sri Lankan spice garden where you can learn about the basis of the Ayurveda natural medicine, before proceeding to Kandy . Nestled between scenic, forest-covered mountains, this hill-country capital offers an eclectic blend of history, culture, shops, markets, and religious sites. After lunch and short city tour of Kandy you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya by train (the so-called Little England) with its colonial hotels, the race course and golf courses. Your driver will pick you up from the train station in Nuwara Eliya and take you to your hotel.

Day 6 : After breakfast you will be taken on a sightseeing tour around Nuwara Eliya or you have the option** to go on a trip to the Horton Plains, Sri Lanka’s highest and most isolated plateau. Set on a backdrop of the hauntingly beautiful landscape of cloud forests and endless grasslands, Horton Plains is the perfect place for nature lovers, with its rich biodiversity and stunning views. Those who visit Horton Plains can’t help but be enamoured by the sight of many wild animals and different species of birds enjoying the resplendent surroundings. Walk through Horton Plains to the precipice known as World’s End – a sheer drop of an astonishing 1,050 meters, an excellent place to look out over the surrounding hills, and a popular spot for photos.
In the afternoon you will carry on to Hambantota, via Ella and Tissamaharama,stopping at the waterfalls on the way to take a dip or just simple enjoy the scenery.

Day 7 : Today is the day to rest and relax after the traveling and Saraii Eco Village is the pefect spots for that. With it's amazing selection of tree houses and mud chalets, you can expect to feel the fine balance between nature and good living. You will start your day with breakfast served on the garden with peacocks and tortoises walking around and listening the sound of tropical birds in the background. Children are even welcome to pick their own fruits from their organic garden.
After breakfast drive or even cycle to Kirinda Beach, one of the still untouched beaches in Sri Lanka. Great for swim as well as diving and snorkeling.
Overnight at Saraii Eco Village*.
Day 8 : After early breakfast you will proceed to Yala National Park for morning or even whole day Jeep safari were you can watch leopards, elephants, bears, thousand of local and migrant birds in the wild follow by city tour of Tissamaharama to enjoy the many interesting historic and religious sites.
In the afternoon your driver will transfer you to your hotel of choice along the South- or West Coast or back to the airport.
